"Gears of War 2" by Epic Games* Non-scoring and Horde Leaderboard Issues Continue....
|
|
IS IT
MICROSOFT THAT CAN'T COUNT OR KEEP SCORE |
| Hello Again, Here we are again. Same ole craziness. Can you imagine a company as big as Microsoft and a game maker as big as Epic and they can't even count properly?? What's with that?? Are they so far out in left field that they have no clue what's going on at home plate? On this page, you'll see some screen captures to support what I'm saying on this page and understand unhappy gaming more. In playing the game Gears of War 2, under the "Multiplayer" mode, I acquire a team of 5 total players. We choose to play Horde. You know, waves of locusts trying to get us. It's easier to fight off the locusts than Microsoft and Epic. After, sometimes as much as 2 hours of playing, I learn to find out that not one single point, nadda, nothing has gone to my Gear's Leaderboard scoring for that just finished game or map. Now, you might say that if I wait 15 minutes it might appear. Folks, it doesn't appear in 15 hours or 15 days. It was just another day at the on-line frustration gaming pit.
This screen shot showing my game history indicates that I didn't even play 29 minutes on the Security map which I did play (see notes little farther down). Where did it go guys??
These two screen shots show that I played last night (I'm on CST ) 2 Horde matches on the Blood Drive map. Obviously obtaining scores on both. My Horde leaderboard score for this map hasn't change, so much as 1 point, since I started recording the scores again on October 12th. 15 minutes to update. Microsoft punishes game players for cheating. What should they do to themselves for cheating us out of game playing scores?? Hmmmmm Anyone, every think of that?? Of course not because we put our trust and faith in these electronic genius' to do it right and they can't even count and keep score. Case in point. After getting off the telephone, last night (22Oct2009), with Microsoft in my over 2 hour "let me speak with a Supervisor" ordeal Ref # 1115103122 (one of MANY, by the way), I thought after we "cleared cache" on my console, deleted and recovered my gamertag, I just might, possibly, just maybe, be able to play a game of Horde and have it score. Here's what happened playing Horde after the magical "fixes". 22Oct2009 10:03pm - 10:20pm played Avalanche Wave 7 - No score on leaderboard 10:50pm - 11:02pm played Blood Drive Wave 6 - No score on leaderboard 11:17pm to 11:46pm played Security Wave 7 - No score (doesn't even show up that I played it) 11:48pm to 12:26am played Blood Drive Wave 6 or 7 host quit - lost connection - No score on leaderboard Irregardless how the game ends, there's no score. It seems though that with the "host" being able to restart and then chooses not to, the "connection is lost" and all the players are penalized. This has been going on for WEEKS. I call and call Microsoft and they are checking into it. Right !! They will cut me off from game playing if my online membership is expired by 20 seconds. Maybe, they should move the accounting talent into the technical support area?? Hmmm. Update: 23Oct2009 9:00pm to 9:35pm played public Horde on Hail - 7 waves. No score on Horde Leaderboard again. Update: 27Oct2009 between 1:00pm and 9:00pm, I played 7 different public Horde matches, some I was host, some others hosted but NO SCORE posted to the Horde Leaderboard again. One match on map Day One went to wave 19 and lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes. All were played started at Multiplayer first and then Horde. One was starting from Horde right away. Microsoft points to Epic and Epic fails to acknowledge. Thought maybe the new update 5 might correct the problem. Nope same ole stuff. Come on guys. Get with the program. Update: 28Oct2009 between 12:12pm and 7:42pm, I played 3 different matches of Horde (via Multiplayer) online. I played Blood Drive 5 waves, Highway 6 waves and Mansion 11 waves. None of the 3 matches scored 1 single point. Update: 30Oct2009 between 1:00pm to 1:52 played Horde (via Multiplayer) online with map Gold Rush reached level 8 or 9 and then the host restarted the match. NO SCORE Update: 30Oct2009 Continued: Called Microsoft technical support again, first spoke with Fred who said he wasn't aware of leaderboard scoring and transferred me to Resolution Specialist Peter. Reference # 1115774003. Peter said this needed to be "escalated" (heard that many times over the last 6 or 7 months of calling). It is definitely an Epic Games problem and they were aware of it. Microsoft would have another update before the end of the year and these issue should be addressed with that last update for the year. Should I hold my breath?? Update: 19December2009 Continued: Nothing has changed. Still the same incorrect scoring. No calls from Microsoft as promised either. Update: 18July2010 Continued: Nothing has changed. Still the same incorrect scoring. No calls from Microsoft as promised either.
HERE'S THE REAL CORKER !! I ask Microsoft how so many of my friends (on my friends list leaderboard score) have the EXACT same score. Come on !! Any clue how impossible or the odds of that happening?? Look at the screen captures on the right? Check out how many players all have the exact same score and numerous groups on different maps. They weren't aware of this? Supposedly. (Continued at top of right side column) |

(Be sure and view all the way to the bottom of this column to see the latest March 2010 screen shots showing their can't count errors.)
2 groups of 2 players with the exact same score. Odds?? Bigger numbers than the national debt |
|||||
![]() When talking to Microsoft, they seem to think that this is okay and further that it's possible to have the same score. Odds again?? |
|||||
![]() These score charts are from www.gearsofwar.com You have to sign in to your account in order to read these. How many others have the same scoring errors?? |
|||||
![]() There are many, many more of these examples but anyone, with half a brain, can see that the stats on their website and stored for the players aren't even remotely correct. Update: 02March2010 Continued: Nothing has changed. Still the same errors, no scoring and inaccurate scoring. Here's a screen shot, taken today, from the gearsofwar.com website where it lists the top players in Horde on the "Allfathers Garden" map. With scores in the 2 BILLION's.... look at all the duplicates and it's page after page like this. How do they dare say they don't have any problems with scoring? Think they'll ever learn to count or better still... fix their problems?? I've played well over 100 horde matches since October of 2009 and two, yes 2, have actually added to my horde leaderboard score. Some even going all the way to 50 waves. Interestingly, the 2 increasing my horde leaderboard were on the same map. With all the great programming, how is that they just can't keep score???
